Camp Counselor Online Application
Radburn Association Summer Campers come together to grow as a warm, welcoming community that gather each summer to experience the fun of summer, to grow as individuals and a family! Our counselors build self-esteem by reinforcing positive values and passing those values onto our campers.
Location
Summer camp is located on the B Park near Howard Ave, the Radburn B Pool, Fair Lawn, NJ 07410
Counselors
The Radburn Association employs seasoned counselors that have taken part in camp themselves as kids. But we also hire experienced counselors who live locally and have a reasonable daily commute to camp. You must be 16 years or older to apply for a Camp Counselor Position.
Campers
Campers have various programs ranging in ages starting from 2.5 years to 15 years old.
Camp Start and End Dates
Counselors are employed for the entire 6-week season. Monday, June 26th, 2023 through Friday, August 4th, 2023. Participation for orientation sessions is also required, dates to be determined. Some staff may be asked to be available for additional hours for various programs.
What is the salary range?
Competitive salary.
What about time off?
All staff is expected to be at camp on time, daily for the entire period that they have been contracted for unless pre-approved for unpaid time off. It presents a hardship to other staff members when someone is absent from camp.
Absences and Sick Days
The only legitimate reason for absence is if the staff member is ill, if there is a dire family emergency or a college orientation. If you are going to be absent due to illness or an emergency, please contact the office and the director by 8:30 am. Staff is not paid for any time not at work. Three (3) absences that have not been pre-approved could be grounds for termination.
Typical Day of Camp
Regular staff hours are from 9:15am – 12:15pm. Each day is made up of scheduled activity periods which are full of surprises and special events. Special trips/events may require extended hours to be worked.
