2023 WALKING TOURS OF HISTORIC RADBURN!

Join us for a free walking tour of historic Radburn. Over the winter we learned some interesting and important things about our community’s story, including:

  • When, why and how Radburn’s Fair Lawn Ave. footbridge was lost.
  • Why the FBI kept a file on Radburn’s co-founder -- and what was in it.
  • The ‘’villains’’ in Radburn history.
  • The fate of B Park’s “summer house,’’ and the spot of the first Tot Lot.

We meet at 10 AM outside the Radburn Plaza (Clocktower) Building. We walk about a mile through A and B parks, and finish after about two hours, including several sit-down breaks.

To RSVP, ask for information, or check walk status in case of bad weather, email fjhampson@gmail.com or call/text 201 286 9577

The tour covers about a mile, with several sit down breaks, and lasts 2 hours.

Graduate class in urban planning Rutgers' Bloustein School!

Monday morning we were visited by 22 members of a graduate school class in urban planning taught by Prof. Kathe Newman of Rutgers' Bloustein School. This may have been the first such school group to tour Radburn since the pandemic. The students said they learned a lot on the tour, and their presence served as a reminder of Radburn's historic impact on city and town planning. (Photo by Lindy Washburn.)
